The house
Casa do Engenho is located 9 km from the historic center of Braga, and is a true haven close to the city.
The house dates from 1843 and, although it has been remodeled, it retains some traces of that period. Located on the banks of the Cávado river, on one of the best river beaches in the country (Praia Fluvial de Adaúfe), where it is safe to swim, canoe/paddle, fish or simply relax.

Surroundings
The observation of the existing fauna around the House (otters, herons, crayfish, etc) and the old Mill and Irrigation Mill (still in operation) are a delight for those who pass by.

This house is simply spectacular, managed by Mónica, the owner, a sweet and very kind person! The house is a luxury all of high quality and very beautiful, (better than in the photos) the atmosphere is magical! Book without hesitation… I will be back and recommend

The setting is exceptional, a little paradise! Waking up in front of the river, having a cup of coffee or even having an aperitif on the grass… Nothing better! The staff is very attentive and available to help you at any time. We feel at home! Come without hesitation and I would say until you have to come!
Casa do Engenho - better than 5-star anything! Beautiful inside and out with every imaginable comfort (...). The apartment was spacious, private, secure, spotless, the beds super comfortable, the bedding and bath linens beautifully embroidered and plush. The kitchen was perfectly furnished for cooking (...). Outdoor space lovely with a deck as well as grassy areas overlooking the river, like something out of a storybook!
Our stay was nothing short of perfect! We staying during a very hot summer, and having the beautiful river to swim in right outside the door was amazing! The property has several places to choose from if you’d like to eat outside (bbq included), relaxing places to sit (with the beautiful view), and spacious for children to play in (...).
